I am an unemployed engineer. I spent 6 years of my life going to college to get a BSME, while the single mother of two small boys. There are no jobs in my field of work at my skill level now. So, never one to lay down and quit, I am going in another direction. More about that later!
My basic philosophy of life is like Mongo’s in Mel Brooks movie Blazing Saddles: “Mongo only pawn in game of life.” Go watch it, it is a great satire on American life and will make you laugh till your face hurts. No pain, no gain! Onward and upward, yada, yada, yada!

Janet, Hi, I just left you a long comment on plinky. Have no idea how and when you would be connected to that…so good luck with that. So I came here to see you because I am new on wordpress as well as plinky…anywayyy then I saw your story about your cat! So glad to meet you….I too am a Tomboy. Or very connected to my masculintiy. Some people would think I am a girly…but they don’t know all of me. Its very cool to meet me in you. I have a tool fetish also…work in a masculine environment…home construction and finish work. Not the least bit gay. I look very feminineand I am…but I am very happy to build muscles and use them. So proud of you for your engineering degree and equally sorry you don’t get to use it. Isn’t it great when you do things with your hands and skillfully? And you must engage your mind to accomplish that. As you very well know! The only time I get to feel validated, other than my own kudoes, is when men see me doing something they know from experience takes mental skill to accomplish. I feel great then. Its like when my mom would be parallel parking our long stationwagon,back in the day, and men would actually stand on the sidewalk and make bets as to whether she would make it or not!! My dad used to have to get out and let her park usually, lol. Well, you and your cat had a night. I had to go to the hospital and get antibiotics intraveineously? one time when my cat bit me in a stressful situation. the pain was unbelievable. Glad you didn’t get an infection. Also, I was a single parent for many years with one son. My thoughts are with you. I am 52, single and 1500 miles away from my son. Trying, desperately, to get back to him. I had a midlife crisis /screwup 6yrs ago and left Colorado for Georgia. Somethings are hard to set right. Wish me luck. Take Care, Nan Collard
