When things go wrong

This can't be good

So, wanna see my list?  This has not been a great week for me, although I will modify that statement with the comment that when things go wrong, if you have a backup solution its not all that bad.  Recognizing that, I will nevertheless list my accumulation of the aforementioned problems:

My garage door quite working, AGAIN.  (This is because I cannot afford to get it properly fixed, so I have friends who know more than I do about such things come and jiggle this and that, and get it working for awhile longer.)

My little fuel efficient 15 year old Ford Escort wagon, which I like a lot (you can cram a LOT of stuff in this little bugger, and even though grossly underpowered, it has run faithfully for all these years.)  It also had the grace to quit working in my garage, so I was not stranded anywhere. I do have another vehicle, so it wasn’t as bad as it could be.  I will have to either fix it or replace it though, as my other vehicle is a truck and it only gets 20 miles to the gallon.

The replacement light fixture for my kitchen ceiling, which I have already complained about, ad nauseum, came in pieces with no apparent directions, so that entailed a chunk of time to figure out how to put it together and install. (At least I have the brains to figure it out – sometimes that is your backup system – a brain.)

I get to work and the computer is dead – with one of those blue screens of death with a lot of gobbledeygook that I don’t know what the hell they are telling me all over the screen.  Since then (Tuesday) it has crashed 4 times, with one additonal blue screen of death yesterday.  You can spend a lot of time shutting down and restarting computers . . . . The techie guy is coming this morning, thank the computer gods (would that be Odin, or who?).

I go to the restroom at work here this morning, and the toilet won’t flush.  I try to fix it (yes, I know the little chain thing came off the lifter thing inside the toilet tank), but I can’t get the chain to re-attach to the lifter.  I’m suspicious one of the links just came completely off and is now floating calmly in the septic tank.  I don’t know where the tools or the wire are to make another link, so the guys can fix it when they get in.

Well, I guess thats it for now.  Well, I did have a problem getting on a website that I had to get on and open an account, for a new job I’m doing from home.  Ever hear of ACN?  Those guys.  I had problems and it entailed a bunch of phone calls to get resolved.  That was kinda stressful.

I hate it when things go wrong, don’t you?
