My "Bearpaw" snowshoes, circa 1940's?

That'd be my snowshoes. I don't know how old they are, except that they are older than me, and I'm 60. They are wood, with rawhide mesh and leather straps. They work just fine, but since everyone else uses the new plastic and metal shoes I had to buy a new pair, as my wood snowshoes are wider than any of the modern ones so I'd be breaking trail the entire distance if I wore them. One thing I really like about my new snowshoes is they are very light, so I can carry them with no problem until I hit snow on the trail. The wood ones are quite a bit heavier.
