Define smart. In our culture we define intelligence by how well a person can read a book and repeat back what they read. In other words, the better their memory, the more intelligent they are considered. I have so often observed people who are very good at this type of "intelligence" totally screwing up their lives and making poor decisions. In fact, the "smartest" persons I know are usually very poor decision makers.

That's my take on this question. I have learned a great deal from everything from words in a comic book, to TV, to movies, and yes, from intelligent people. There is no one person I can point to in my life that imparted more useful, accurate information than any other. Wisdom is where you find it.
